My name is Janna Cronk. I was a flight engineer in the Air Force on the C-141 Starlifter, the C-5 Galaxy and the C-130 Hercules. I flew some really fun and interesting missions with some of the most fantastic and brilliant people in the world. When people ask me why I want to fly, I always reply with,” because I didn’t know how to breathe until I flew.”
I don’t really talk about my time in the service because I’m not really sure what to say. I joined on a whim and stayed 24 years, 8 months and 16 days. I just say 25 years
because it’s easier. The military helped me accumulate my pilot and instructor licenses in both airplanes and helicopters and 3 degrees. I’ve traveled all over the world, been to war and learned a great deal. It was the most crazy, fun, adventurous whirlwind I’ve
experienced to date. It taught me that life is a grand adventure and I’m so glad I had the chance to experience and live it.
